Question I have been asked but, can not answer.

My mother appears to be winding down. I know she has severe dementia. I believe that she works very hard to communicate to me and this causes her to become physically tired. But, the question asked of me was do I believe she has the mental ability to say "I am tired of fighting." Which I believe we all have, and just giving up. All opinions would be appreciated.
