Mom remains in the hospital

Went to see mom . What a difference a day makes has never been more true, she is again happily demented. smiling and making jokes. Her physician is trying to find the correct medication to help her sleep. I am told once she sleeps through the night she can come home, and her doctor is being so cautious of the increases. I am glad now that I took her. I have also realized how much she is apart of this household and it is way to quiet with her gone. Ready for round 6 so to speak.

  1. Hi Marty, I vivdly remember when my mom had the flus in Nov 08, serious diareha, thought I was going to lose her. Couldn't get her meds in her at that time. As she got better, one night over the monitor, I heard her just talking away, babbling about everything and anything. Mom has never been a babbler! I realized the next day, it was the result of the medicine being out of her system. We were seeing what the dementia had actually done to her mind, and that the "side effects" of her meds actually made her into the person we took care of, subdued and quiet! I was able to get the meds going again, she had the first initial recactions to them as her body got used to them again, but the babbling went away. Kind of missed it actually, was interesting, but she was also feisty at the same time, and that I didn't care for! lol Hope your mom will be well and home soon! Donna
